IDMA Curriculum Expenses
General
Expenses
The Insurance Data Management Association curriculum consists of eight courses,
including four from the Insurance Institutes OR the Life Management Institute
(LOMA) OR Society of Financial Examiners (SOFE) as described in the syllabus;
costs for these courses are wholly under the administration of their sponsors.
If an IDMA candidate indicates to the Institutes that she or he has paid the
matriculation fee to IDMA for the certification program, the Institutes will
waive their matriculation fee. LOMA doesn't charge a matriculation fee. Also,
anyone holding the associate or fellow designation from the Casualty Actuarial
Society needs only to take the four IDMA courses to earn the CIDM. (If you
are not yet a fellow or associate (FCAS or ACAS), completion of all the CAS
exams listed in the syllabus will satisfy the non-IDMA requirements.) The remaining
four courses are created by the Insurance Data Management Association, and
costs are enumerated in these pages. Except as specified in the syllabus, no
credit is given for exams passed in other curricula.

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING FEES: Please be advised that as of

and matriculation fees by $75. Exam registrations and matriculations
received between now and 9/15/2008 will be honored at the lower
prices.
In addition to the regular matriculation and examination registration
fees, there will be a late charge of $50 for any exam registrations
received after the deadline noted on each registration form (forms
are sent with each study guide).
FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.
Also, it is conceivable that a further expense could be incurred
with transportation to and from an examination site. However,
we try to locate exam sites within reasonable distance of a candidate's
community.
Information about ordering study guides and texts follows. Take note: Although
IDMA fills orders for study guides and IDMA texts upon receipt, it has become
clear that often there are delays in receiving some of the other texts even
after a distributor has accepted an order. IDMA has no control over other publishers
or distributors. One suggested way to protect students from having to postpone
their study because of such a problem: The company library or education department
could order texts in sufficient quantity to loan to students experiencing delays
in having individual book orders filled.
NOTE: we
recommend visiting various online booksellers to comparison
shop for the non-IDMA textbooks. Ordering information,
generally from the publisher, is included in this document,
but it is undeniable that online sellers often have
lower prices. HOWEVER, it is essential that you order
the correct edition of a book – always
check the ISBN number. |

NOTE: Prices of textbooks are subject to change without notice.
It is recommended that, where possible, telephone contact be
made to inquire about shipping, handling, estimated delivery
date, back orders, etc.
